The Wisconsin Educator Standards outline characteristics of good educators by identifying the components and defining qualities of best professional practice. The Wisconsin Educator Standards are incorporated into educator preparation programs by Wisconsin colleges and universities. Wisconsin educators use these Standards to guide career-long professional development, including Professional Development Plan (PDP).

Educators are defined as professionals working in Wisconsin schools as:

• Administrators

To receive an educator license in Wisconsin, an applicant shall complete an approved program and demonstrate proficient performance in the knowledge, skills, and dispositions under Wisconsin standards that fit their educational profession.
