Directions for Requesting the Reissuance of an Initial Educator License

****** We have experienced an overwhelming volume of phone calls and email these past few weeks seeking assistance with ELO and licensing. We will continue to work with educators who had reached out for assistance or started an application online prior to June 30th to be able to assist with technical issues that prevented application completion.  Applications from these educators who made a good faith effort to apply will be considered as having been made timely. ******

Directions for requesting reissuance of a 5-year Initial Educator License for teachers, administrators, and pupil services professionals:

IF there is some type of misconduct that needs to be reported, prepare and attach a written explanation of what happenedYou must also provide complete electronic (scanned) copies of documents associated with the matter that can corroborate / illuminate your explanation of the incident. These may include the criminal complaint, judgment of conviction, police reports, disciplinary letters/findings, correspondence, etc., as applicable.  (Note: Court history information printed from the CCAP web site is NOT sufficient.)

  • Be prepared to attest on the Suitability Question screen in ELO that you have not had the opportunity to be employed as an educator in the category of your Initial Educator License for 3 or more school years, one of the requirements for advancement to a Professional Educator License. Also, be prepared to complete the Work History screen in ELO with any educator experience you have had.

  • Have your credit card ready.  If you do not already have a credit card to pay the $100 renewal fee, you should purchase a pre-paid credit card at a convenience store.

  • Log into the ELO system - http://elo.wieducatorlicensing.org.  The transaction for requesting that your Initial Educator License be reissued can be found in the drop down menu next to your license in the "Manage your license information" section on the ELO Quick Start page.  The transaction number is 3010.
