About TEPDL

****** We have experienced an overwhelming volume of phone calls and email these past few weeks seeking assistance with ELO and licensing. We will continue to work with educators who had reached out for assistance or started an application online prior to June 30th to be able to assist with technical issues that prevented application completion.  Applications from these educators who made a good faith effort to apply will be considered as having been made timely. ******

The Teacher Education, Professional Development and Licensing Team (TEPDL) supports educators, school districts, and educator preparation programs to ensure highly qualified and highly effective educators in Wisconsin schools. The TEPDL team supports educators across their career continuum, beginning from pre-service. The TEPDL team works with educator preparation programs to review and make program approval recommendations to ensure these programs are of the highest quality in preparing educators to enter our schools.

On an annual basis, the TEPDL team issues licenses for approximately 36,000 Wisconsin educators as initial, professional, or master educators. The TEPDL team also provides resources and support to school districts and educators in the Professional Development Plan (PDP) process for license renewal.

The TEPDL team also works directly with school districts to support recruitment efforts and monitor the supply and demand of the Wisconsin educator workforce.
